We are loving the summer weather in the Yampa Valley! The roads are open to the high country, which means it's time to start thinking about lakes up in the Flat Tops and Zirkles. There are some unexpected snow drifts lingering, so be prepared when traveling into the high country. Steamboat and Pearl lake have been great fishing lately, especially in the early morning and late afternoons.

We highly suggest heading up to Rabbit Ears pass and checking out Dumont Lake, or for a full day of adventure try mountain biking from Dumont Lake and end the day with some epic fishing at Long Lake! Head up Rabbit Ears on Highway 40 to Dumont Lake. Then take trail #1102 North to Fishhook Lake, Lost Lake, Lake Elmo, and Round Lake. Be prepared for a full day of pedaling, fishing and fun!
