March 12th Snow Report
More wet snow fell over the weekend with about 8 inches falling Friday night and other fresh 5 inches on Saturday night. The heavy snow is tiring to ski all day, but it feels bottomless and creamy all day long! All tree runs on the mountain are well-covered and very fun to ride. Groomers can get a little choppy on powder days, but early in the day they are a real treat! Check the Steamboat app for grooming reports so you can head straight to freshly groomed trails in the morning.
Skip The Lift Lines
Lift lines have been longer than usual, to avoid the lines we recommend heading up Christy lift instead of the Gondola, and then heading down to Thunderhead lift, which you can then take to the top of the mountain. Avoid Sundown lift as the lines have been super long, instead use Storm Peak and Elkhead lifts to access sunny-side.
There is a chance for snow tonight with the forecast calling for 4-8” on Wednesday morning. It looks like we will then see a break from the snow through March 20th with another storm rolling in at the end of March. Avalanche danger remains extremely high right now, so stay informed and aware even while riding within resort boundaries.
