Snow Report for 2.23.22

Happy Hump Day! We hope everyone enjoyed their long weekend and spent plenty of time outside enjoying the snow. Cooler temperatures for today and in the forecast for the next few days, but as we look ahead towards the weekend and next week temperatures are expected to rise into the high 20’s and 30’s.

Today Steamboat Resort is reporting 14°F mid mountain temperatures with a high of 18°F and 1 mph winds. 100% of the area’s terrain is open with 169/169 trails and 14/17 lifts open. Bar-UE lift is currently closed and we will provide an update once that lift is operating again. The resort received 2 inches of new snow in the last 24 hours and 7 inches total from the most recent storm. Snowpack remains below average at 86 percent, so looking towards to the water summer season we are keeping our fingers crossed for any precipitation.

The snow conditions have improved immensely since the last storm him, but watch out for icy spots on the mountain that could be hidden under the fresh snow. Although the recent snowfall improved the snow conditions, there are still ice and rocks to look out for. With these colder temperatures the snow will most likely not soften up over the next few days.
