Snow Report for 2.3.21
We’re in for a great week of snow! The current weather report is forecasting 30 inches over the next five days with up to three inches tonight, five inches tomorrow, 10 inches Friday, seven inches Saturday, and finally five inches Sunday. This consistent snow fall is great news for the ski area and we couldn’t be happier writing this report!
Temperatures are up today with a high of 45° and will begin to drop later this afternoon and into the night. Rain is forecasted around 3PM today and as temperatures drop it should start snowing around 4PM. We can expect fairly consistent temperatures over the next five days in the late teens to low twenties.
Pony Express Lift remains closed but we’re hoping it will open once this storm rolls in and that area of the mountain receives a bit more coverage. There are still plenty of rocks and bushwhackers sticking out.
Although Steamboat is the only Ikon mountain in Colorado that does not require reservations for skiing, the lift lines and crowds have not been terrible this year. But we do expect it to be fairly busy these next few days because of this big storm. Winter Park and Copper won’t be receiving nearly as much snow as us and an event like this tends to draw in the crowds.
Trails we’re loving right now:
- Bar-U-E Liftline
- Closets & Shadows
