Snow Report for 3.3.22
Can you believe it’s already March? This season is flying by!
Today is Thursday, March 3, 2022, and the Yampa Valley is experiencing unseasonably warm weather. Steamboat Resort is currently reporting 43°F mid mountain temperatures with a high of 44°F and 3 mph winds. 100% of the area’s terrain is open with 169/169 trails and 15/17 lifts open. It’s been about a week since Steamboat has been hit with a snow storm, but up to 13 inches are in the forecast over the next five days.
You can expect warm temperatures through tomorrow, but they will start to drop Saturday when the storm is forecasted to hit Steamboat. Looking into next week conditions are expected to be fairly cold and (hopefully) snowy. Snowpack remains below average at 84 percent. It might not be the greatest season ever but we are taking full advantage of the resort operating as normal.
For those of you reading this that are currently here in Steamboat or planning a vacation here, there are lots of activities to do other than skiing. Skiing is exhausting and sometimes you just need to give those legs a break and take a day off from the slopes. Great news is that there are plenty of fun activities around the Yampa Valley other than skiing. Our ice fishing season is still going strong, so book a guided trip with one of our professional guides. There’s also snowshoeing, live music, shopping, and more!
If you are planning on hitting the slopes, here are some runs we’re loving right now:
- Buddy’s Run
- Hot Cakes
- Three O’clock
Thanks for reading and we’ll see you out there!
