It’s another beautiful sunny day here in Steamboat Springs! We’re looking forward to one more day of sunshine tomorrow, but more importantly we need snow and lots of it. The weather forecast going into the weekend looks promising. The forecast is showing that late tomorrow night it will start snowing and we can expect up to one inch. Conditions of the resort have been steadily improving with more snow coverage and consistently cold temperatures. The forecast for today is predicting three inches of snow later in the afternoon. Temperatures should be in the mid-twenties Thursday and Friday. Going into the weekend we may receive more snow Saturday night going into Monday morning. So let's hope for a powder day!15 out of 18 lifts are open with Pony Express still closed due to lack of snow.We recommend sticking to the groomers for today but conditions could improve tomorrow with the storm coming in later tonight. What a start to the first week of 2021! The mountain reported 11 inches in the last three days with nine inches just yesterday.And what a gorgeous day it was today. The visibility in the morning was a little foggy but eventually it cleared up and we had a great bluebird day. The crowds have subsided since New Years weekend. The lines appeared to be long with social distancing measures in place, but the wait was never more than five minutes. This is the last snow report of 2020. Let’s hope 2021 is a better year for all of us and with that, graces us with more snow! As December 2020 comes to a close, records show snowfall for Steamboat is below average. Three days ago it was hard to avoid patches of rocks and grass on the groomers. But things are looking up! Our most recent storm total was 11.5 inches with three inches in the last 24 hours.
