Snow Reports RSS

Conditions on the resort have been excellent with soft snow and warm temperatures. A string of storms has kept snow fresh throughout the past few weeks and it looks like there is more coming! This consistent snowfall is good news. Monday brought about 9 inches of fresh snow and it looks like there is another chance for snow on Tuesday night through Wednesday afternoon. All tree runs are well-covered and skiing well right now. Some of our favorites include: Broadway Trees Castles Lower Concentration Trees Tipi Trees Locals Tip: Grab a to-go breakfast sandwich from Gondola Pub and Grill if...

Winter is officially in full swing here in Routt County!   Although most of Friday’s snow was tracked out before lifts closed on Friday, strong wind gusts throughout the night made for some fun pockets of snow this morning! Temps have dropped again this week, so we recommend waiting a bit to hit the slopes if there is no new snow. Everything is skiing really well right now, with a solid base across the mountain.   Locals Tip: Tipi trees usually stay soft for a few days after a storm! To get to the tipi trees, head down Vagabond until...

The past week has been all over the place as far as conditions go. We’ve seen warm, sunny days, powder and -5-degree weather. We’ve had a particularly cold streak the past few days, but It seems to be letting up with the new year with some fresh snow this morning and more to come this week. Today was surprisingly soft and most likely due to over-celebration last night, there was almost no-one on the mountain before 11:00am. Snow is light and powdery so look in flatter areas for the best turns until it starts filling in a bit more. The...

This weekend was a bit of a tease with over a foot of snow predicted in the forecast which transpired into about 6 inches over the course of the weekend. However, there were plenty of good turns to be had! Sunday brought a full range of weather from sun, to rain to snow and about 4 inches accumulated right as lifts were shutting down. This combined with the new terrain opened made for a very good Monday morning! Shadows and Closets opened up and were skiing GREAT until about noon when they started to get tracked out. We are looking...

Temps and visibility were low this morning with a light snow shower lingering. Most open trails are skiing fairly well with decent coverage, especially towards upper mountain. Storm Peak Express is now open with access to High Noon, One O’Clock and Two O’Clock. Be aware that if you head that way you will need to traverse out via cat track since Sundown and Sunshine lifts are still closed. Our guess is that Buddy’s Run will open up this week which will be the go-to run from Storm Peak. Trees are even soft in some places around the mountain, they are...
